Infrared boiler / furnace thermometers

Read the gas temperature, not the wall

Infra-View® is a non-contact infrared thermometer that measures the temperature of the combustion gas itself — the flue exit gas temperature, FEGT — through any port on the boiler, and sends it to your DCS as a 4–20 mA signal. 250°F to 3,000°F, higher end temperatures available. Nothing in the gas stream to burn out.

How it works

Sees CO₂
Detects the infrared emission of hot CO₂ in the combustion gas — not the tube walls, not the flame. A thin-film thermopile behind a spectral filter tuned to the hot CO₂ band.
Mounts anywhere
Flange-mounted on any port, door or penetration — an observation door, a sootblower port, a spare penetration.
Survives the wall
Air-cooled, purged and filtered protective jacket, factory assembled, on plant air. Two-wire shielded cable is the only other connection.
Feeds the DCS
4–20 mA, loop powered (0–20 mA available), fully sub-scalable. 100 ms response (600 readings per minute).

Products

  • Fixed, continuous flue-gas temperature monitoring

Infra-View® Infrared Boiler / Furnace Thermometer

A non-contact infrared sensor, flange-mounted on any boiler or furnace penetration, that reads the temperature of the combustion gas itself — for startup and shutdown, slagging and fouling, heat transfer and emissions-control checks — and feeds it to the DCS as a 4–20 mA signal.

    Combustion gases
    Range
    250°F to 3,000°F
    Note
    Passive reading, low maintenance

  • Handheld, for surveys and system evaluation

Infra-View® Portable Infrared Boiler / Furnace Thermometer

The same Infra-View® sensor with a battery pack, local digital readout, carrying case, tripod and mounting bracket — for taking readings at several locations before, during and after a combustion-optimisation project, or checking an FGD or SNCR inlet.

What FEGT tells you

Furnace exit gas temperature is the one number that says whether the heat is going where it should. Watch it through startup and shutdown, see slagging and fouling build before the sootblowers tell you, confirm heat transfer after a burner change, and protect the FGD or SNCR inlet from gas that is hotter than it should be. A thermocouple in the gas stream gives you a point that burns out; Infra-View® gives you the gas, continuously, from outside the wall.

Made and calibrated by the manufacturer

Infra-View® is designed, built and calibrated by JNT Technical Services, Inc. in the United States, and fitted to your boiler's fuel and geometry before it ships. Calibrations and rebuilds of units in service are done here too. Tell us the application in the Pyrometer Selector and an engineer, not a form, replies.
